The Summer is intense, especially in Scandinavia, where I find myself for the next months. The light until 10 pm keeps me awake, and gives me the energy and inspiration for making my Summer paintings.
In my sketch book, there are bathing, diving, floating men and women, children and elderly women . They all have a connection to the salty water, surrounded in a Nordic, blue(ish) palett. At mid-day an ochre colour filter of humidity fills the air and my canvas.
This summer I want to catch the blissfully-melancholic, short and archetypical moments in life in “plein air”. So far they are in water colour, in some months large scale, oil paintings. Photos will be posted as summer pass…
